Though I've read quite a bit of the Tolkien collections, I'm always learning something new. One area I've never really gotten into is the Númenóreans. The "Tar-"s this or that finally all start blending together. Also, anyone who knows me realizes I'm a hopeless Feanorian fan-girl.
If you are interested in learning more about strong-willed and entertaining Númenórean women, I recommend checking out Most Bright by Lyra. Lovely tale about Ancalimë, an independent-minded princess.
Additionally, you can't go wrong reading the "Character of the Month Biographies" on SWG. I always learn something new and interesting each month.
Enjoy.

Date: 2019-03-26 09:41 pm (UTC)Sauron's appearance is certainly the most notable. I honestly don't like the Númenórean culture -- too political, back-stabbing, self-inflated egos, etc. A while back I read an interesting fic whereby the premise was that the entire culture was actually set up from the get-go by Sauron's influence. He basically "made" Tar-Pharazôn the ass that he was through the subtle manipulation of the royal line over the years. (I'm going to be real embarrassed here if this from your stories, LOL!) I actually like the idea a lot.
